Andrew Bradshaw – CSTDB, CSSW, AIMMM
Andrew is Partner, Co-Founder and Surveyor at RTC which has been in business for over 30 years.
He is a fully qualified damp, timber and structural waterproofing surveyor and is also an Associate of the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining, which was formerly the Institute of Wood Science, CSTDB, CSSW, AIMMM.
Andrew has been in the preservation industry for over 35 years and at the age of just 20, he passed his first industry qualification and at that time was the youngest qualified surveyor in the country.
He has progressed through the industry and has made a name for himself nationally and is actively involved in pioneering positive change and promoting professional standards on a national level. He was a director and board member of the industries governing body, The Property Care Association (PCA) for 12 years and is extremely proud to have served as national chairman during that time.
He continues to serve as the PCA’s Northern Regional Chairman, sits on various groups and is an examiner for candidates taking their industry qualifications.
He is recognised as being one of the North West’s foremost authorities in damp and timber problems and it’s not unusual to see him appearing on TV. He was invited to take part with Nick Knowles and the team on DIY SOS: The Big Build, when they transformed a property in Manchester for a war veteran and he also appeared on BBC News when he was involved with an innovative flood resilience project in Cumbria which recently won the Environment Agency’s project excellence award for climate resilience.
He enjoys passing on his knowledge to others and delivers regular presentations for training and continued professional development. Andrew has delivered training to professional surveyors, architects, housing associations and local authorities. His company invests a lot of money in training and development, for all their staff and he still attend’s regular training himself, as he believes, ‘we are always learning’.
Andrew is also passionate about helping to develop young people and is proud to be part of the founders for school’s project, which mentors and helps prepare school leavers for the journey ahead.
Andrew and his company like to support local charities and have recently raised money for Lancashire Mind and Street Life, a local homeless charity for young people.
