Kicking for a Cure: RTC Supports the Jordan Whitehouse Memorial Tournament

Jordan Whitehouse Memorial Tournament

Jordan Whitehouse played football with Blackpool Rangers for over 10 years, despite his life-shortening conditions.

Jordan died from cystic fibrosis at a young age of 20, a condition he had battled most of his life. Cystic fibrosis causes mucus to collect in the lungs and digestive system. Many sufferers do not live to adulthood.

Jordan went to Carleton St Hilda’s Primary School and later, Montgomery High School but as his illness progressed, he was forced to quit the game at 16.

Each year Jordans friends and family organise a memorial football tournament in his name to raise money & awareness for Cystic Fibrosis to honour his memory.

They reach out to local businesses for sponsorship to help fund the events in order to make as big as impact as possible. They have been raising awareness through the memorial tournament for a decade and it always has a great turn out in honour of Jordan.

RTC were made aware of this event by a member of staff who has attended these events over the years to support her friends who were affected by his passing. As a business we are delighted to offer support to the memorial tournament this year and hope to see a lot of funds raised for such a great cause.
